Elder Kennedy's Mission Scripture

Elder Kennedy's Mission Scripture:

Omni 1: 26

"And now, my beloved brethren, I would that ye should come unto Christ, who is the Holy One of Israel, and partake of his salvation, and the power of his redemption. Yea, come unto him, and offer your whole souls as an offering unto him, and continue in fasting and praying, and endure to the end; and as the Lord liveth ye will be saved."

Fall time and Power outages

My Family,

Wow! That's awesome the Chargers are holding up strong and Renee and Joe's flag football team is "doin work." Man, I am so happy for you all. Halloween is like a month away and I can't believe I will be home. Whenever we have lunches with the member's they ask how many more weeks I have left and I cry thinking about leaving Brasil so soon. :(  Anyway there is a season to everything. This week has been rough as we have been without water a few times and without energy in the house kkkk, it's hard sometimes but makes me think of always being prepared.

Our English classes are going nicely. We are going to teach a lot of it through music, and having people learn and understand the lyrics from their favorite American music. We are teaching a young man- Wagner who went to church these past 2 weeks and he is going to the EFY here. He is a stud and please pray for him.

Anyway stoked that I will get rid of this "need to surf sickness" and will cured in a bit. Stayin strong and stayin alive!!!

paz e amor,

Weekly Note

Hey fam,

Yes finally they sent my flight itinerary! See you on the 29th of October! Que bom.
Anyway we are working hard here in Curado and things couldn't be better. We just had ward conference and it went really well!! Tons of less actives showed up and we are doing our best to keep them coming. We started an English class and I have a feeling its going to explode with new referrals and fresh investigators. I had done english classes in the past but this time we are way more organized and know what to look for.

Anyway I feel so blessed to be on a mission and to have learned many great things throughout this journey. I am so thankful for the wonderful people that have influenced and guided me through the mission. I know Jesus Christ lives and that this is His work.
Com Amor,

Start of my last transfer

Family!

ONLY 6 more weeks! That is, I think... hahah still haven't received my itinerary.

Sorry this is so short. Wow so today was transfers, my last one ever.

Sunday was Aschiley's baptism. It was super cool. Elder Rock can say he baptized his last day in the mission! We had a sick bbq with the members. It made me a bit trunky, but I know my day is coming all too soon.

My new companion is pretty new/cool. Elder Bleyl from Richmond, Virginia. He has been 8 months in the mission. I'm stoked to have a companion super ready to work me to death!!

I know the Church is true, that Christ lives and that he wants us to be happy.

Love,

Jaboatão dos guararapes - Curado

Hey Família Kennedy,

Yeah it feels great to be working hard and yet so close to being home. I have mixed emotions but i'm doing well. It honestly doesnt feel like the mission is ending.

Anyway my companion is a champ and he doesn't leave me that trunky. Yes when I get home I plan on going to Mira Costa asap as well and finding a dope job to make bank.

Congrats Sis on being the coolest nanny ever! Can't wait until you guys adopt. Totally gonna teach your kids Portuguese. I don't believe that I will need to send anything home, i'm going to leave my sheets and give away my shirts and pants and ties as presents to members here. I heard the Chargers lost to the Cardinals...whats that about? I have a friend on the mission who's a Cardinals fan, he says they are gonna win the super bowl this year. Anything is possible. I hope the Bolts do well.

On September 11th we are having a bbq/churrasco for Elder Rock with the Bishop's family and some members. It's gonna be tight. Sunday we marked Aschiley's baptism!!! She will be baptized this Sunday if everything goes according to plan.
Yes! I'm so totally stoked and thankful about that and finishing my mission here in Curado. I know Jesus Christ is our Saviour and lives. I know that the power of prayer is real and necessary for our spiritual growth. I know we have a Father in Heaven who loves us and wants each of His children to be happy. I know this happiness comes from the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Com muito amor,

Elder Kennedy

Glad my letters are making it to the states

Hey Family!

Right now i'm at the Recife temple. My p-day was switched this week because it's our zone's Temple day. Anyway this week was chill. We are working hard with the members and visiting some great less-active families. My companion and I have made awesome friends with the youth and set up activities during the week for them to bring friends to the church building to have a good time while learning about the gospel.

My companion is trunky but we make each other work super hard and we are great pals. I think i'll be heading home the 27th of October, but still have to call the secretary about my flight itinerary. But that's not important. My comp and I have been working in the ghetto knocking doors and finding some interesting people and a couple families that really have potential. The hardest part is getting them to walk up the biggest hill in the world to go to church.

Thanks for all of your support! I love you!
