Elder Kennedy's Mission Scripture

Elder Kennedy's Mission Scripture:

Omni 1: 26

"And now, my beloved brethren, I would that ye should come unto Christ, who is the Holy One of Israel, and partake of his salvation, and the power of his redemption. Yea, come unto him, and offer your whole souls as an offering unto him, and continue in fasting and praying, and endure to the end; and as the Lord liveth ye will be saved."

He's home

After more than 11 hours in the air and 2 layovers, Elder Eric Kennedy arrived home at 10 a.m. on Wednesday November 29th 2014!!!!

We are so happy to welcome him home and have him back with his family again after two years of serving in the Recife Brazil mission. We are grateful he chose to serve a mission and to bless the people in Brazil with the gospel.  After managing this blog for two years I officially post the last entry! His family is especially grateful to all of the wonderful people in Brazil who fed and took care of Eric.

Last Week of the Mission

Hello to the best family in the World!

Wow, so it's happening; my last week in the mission field. My feelings about being so close to home and family are many. I had an awesome last interview with my Mission President and he gave me some excellent life advice and wisdom. I am super nervous about what life is going to be like after the mission it is insane. My companion is doing fine. Don't worry, I wont leave him too trunky haha. I am happy to say i'm working hard and not letting the trunkyness (trunkeza) influence me to not fulfill my call to serve a 2 year full time mission.

I have learned so much, mostly by the spirit and the wonderful people I have met and be-friended here in this wonderful country of Brasil. I know I will never forget these moments and memories gained from this special work. Two years went by and I can't really say if they were really all that fast, but time goes by so fast, so we need to use our time wisely and make the best choices possible with the agency we have been given. I am thankful for my Savior Jesus Christ and His Infinite Atonement. I know He lives and that we have living modern-day Prophets who receive revelation for the world. I am so happy for the testimony I have gained while on a mission and the people that gave me tremendous examples of how to continue on everyday being a better person than I was before. I love you all soo much and i'll see you soon!!

P.S. I can't wait to go home to my home temple. Bummer that we may have gotten rid of the suits, but it's all good. Glad you found the soccer ball. See you all next Wednesday.

Hello Hello

What’s up my peeps i.e family?

Man, time has gone by. This week and last week were crazy! There was the Presidential Election here and election day is madness because here in brasil, it is mandatory to vote,,,otherwise you get fined. Additionally the President Election was so close that they are going to have a re-election between the two candidates.

There has been tons of rain and cooler weather. I love it here still and love everyone I meet. The members are all so awesome! I will definitely come back to visit soon hopefully. The mission has been such a wonderful and fulfilling experience, I can’t express how grateful I am to be here and to have this opportunity to serve everyday. I love you all so much and I know Christ lives and wants us to not only to follow him but be like Him.

P.S. I am stoked the Chargers held in there and beat the Raiders. Yes Joe, you and I are gonna party it up and play madden. I am excited to hang out with you guys. Soo sick! Only 2.5 weeks away! #craziness

P.S. Do we still have my black suit that I wore for Joe and Renee’s wedding...????????????

Not too many letters left

Hello family! I miss you all! Are you ready for the madness of me being home? hahaha I can't believe it's like 3 weeks away and although I am super stoked to still be on a mission and working hard every minute, I miss home a boat load.

Joe, I hear you are working like a beast bro, keep it up... hard work always pays off in some way or another. Conference was sooo chill! Heck yes we have a living prophet and 12 Apostles of Christ. I watched them all in English except the Carlos Godoy talk in Portuguese. I went into the room to watch him speak normally in Portuguese. I loved Elder Oaks' talk... because he is my favorite apostle. Then Elder Holland's was so good. It was basically on how boss Pres. Monson is by giving away his suits, shirts and shoes... stud up the yinyang.

Anyway thinking about you all and how we will see each other in a bit...

com amor,

E.Kennedy

Fall time and Power outages

My Family,

Wow! That's awesome the Chargers are holding up strong and Renee and Joe's flag football team is "doin work." Man, I am so happy for you all. Halloween is like a month away and I can't believe I will be home. Whenever we have lunches with the member's they ask how many more weeks I have left and I cry thinking about leaving Brasil so soon. :(  Anyway there is a season to everything. This week has been rough as we have been without water a few times and without energy in the house kkkk, it's hard sometimes but makes me think of always being prepared.

Our English classes are going nicely. We are going to teach a lot of it through music, and having people learn and understand the lyrics from their favorite American music. We are teaching a young man- Wagner who went to church these past 2 weeks and he is going to the EFY here. He is a stud and please pray for him.

Anyway stoked that I will get rid of this "need to surf sickness" and will cured in a bit. Stayin strong and stayin alive!!!

paz e amor,

Elder Kennedy
